A.H. Bangert Elementary

Dear Families:

Welcome to A. H. Bangert Elementary School’s Report Card. Our mission at Bangert is to inspire the curiosity of our school community to ensure all students become productive citizens, lifelong learners and leaders in an ever changing 21st century.

North Carolina’s school accountability program, the ABC’s of Public Education, provides important information about our schools. But, these numbers only tell part of the story. Other indicators of school quality are important to parents and community members. This information is now in one place, on the North Carolina School Report Card. School report cards are provided for regular public schools, charter schools, and alternative schools. This report card includes important information about school and student performances, class sizes, attendance, school safety, school facilities, instructional resources, and teacher quality. Some of the data, as in previous years, is like information about how our school measured against federal Adequate Yearly Progress targets and the number of suspensions in our school. Report card data are available for our school, our school district, and for the state’s education system as a whole. The information in our school report card is from the 2012-2013 school year.

Bangert has a proud tradition of great community support. We are fortunate to have a large number of volunteers that regularly help students. We recognize the need to prepare our students for the 21st century. We are excited about our 1:1 technology program. All students in grades 3-5 to have one computer per student. Our teachers incorporate technology and literacy across the curriculum as they offer rigorous daily instruction that is individualized for each child.
