Craven County is home to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.  The Craven County area is experiencing steady growth in population, education, and economic development.  Our community is within 30 miles of the Atlantic Ocean and we are located on the Neuse and Trent Rivers.  Our mild climate makes for the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beach and outdoor activities.

The Craven County School System serves approximately 15,000 students at our 25 schools.  We have 15 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 3 traditional high schools and 2 early college high schools.  All of our schools follow a traditional calendar with the exception of our early college high schools which follow the early college calendar.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, our system employs about 1,200 teaching professionals.  Our average class size is 1:25.  Our students perform in the top 10% of districts across the state.
