Mrs. Marlo Smith
Welcome to Miss Marlo's Pre K Page
Miss Marlo, Miss Cindy & Miss April
Hi, my name is Marlo Smith. I am a native of Carteret County. This is my 7th year teaching Pre K at Graham A Barden. I have a degree in Recreation Therapy. When my youngest child entered Kindergarten, I began working as a teacher assistant. I worked in schools in the NC Mountains and in Carteret County.. It was during this time, that I realized that I wanted to be a teacher and that my heart was truly in early intervention. So, I went back to school and obtained a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (BK) from Mount Olive College. My husband is a retired Marine. We have been married for 25 years. We have a son who is a 2013 Graduate of NC State University and now is working towards a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Our daughter is a sophomore at NC State majoring in Animal Science. I have 2 super nephews, a dachshund named Zoey, a cat named Angel, and 3 goats. I love teaching Pre K. I have the best job the world!
My name is Cindy Parker, I have worked at GAB for 4 years as a caregiver. I am a native of Carteret County. I have been married for 23 years. I have been working with young children for 19 years and I love working with children with special needs.
My name is April Silvio and this will be my 3rd year as a Teacher Assistant in Pre K here at GAB. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. My husband is the Marine Corps and we have been married for 13 years. I have 2 children that both attend GAB. I just completed my last class for my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and will be student teaching the first part of the school year. See everyone around Thanksgiving!
